10 Bible Verses to Cling onto in 2025

I pray your 2025 is off to a great start! If not, no worries, no matter what comes our way this year, God remains our constant, faithful, and consistent help in times of trouble. This is why I want to share some Bible verses with you to cling onto this year.


Staying rooted in God's Word is one of the most important ways we can stand firm in our faith no matter what comes our way.

Matthew 7:24-27 says this: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rockThe rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Let's be wise builders this year and cling closely to God's Word so that no matter what storms come our way, we're able to stand firm in God.


  1. "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." ~ Exodus 14:14


2025 might throw some battles our way, but guess what? You don’t have to fight them alone. This verse is a reminder that we don't always have to try to fix things ourselves. Sometimes in the face of adversity, God calls us to be still, just like He called the Israelites to be still when they were faced with the terrifying fear of being chased by the Egyptians and being "stuck" in front of the Red Sea. And yet, while God could have told them to get ready for battle, He instead called them to be still and watch Him move on their behalf. This year, pay attention to what God is calling you to do, and if stillness is what you're being called to, be obedient and watch Him move.


  1. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11


When the future feels uncertain, cling to this promise. God’s plans are always for our good, even when we can’t see the full picture. As you step into 2025, remember that God’s blueprint for your life includes hope and purpose. This doesn't mean that hardships won't come your way, but it does mean that when they do, you can rest assured that the Lord's plans for you haven't changed; His plans for you are still good even when your life doesn't reflect it.


  1. "See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." ~ Isaiah 43:19


Have you been feeling like something different, new, and groundbreaking is brewing in your life? If yes, cling onto this verse when that feeling dissipates and you start to doubt that God is doing a new thing in your life. He specializes in creating beauty where there seems to be none. He is an expert at making a way where there seems to be no way. So trust Him and be on the lookout for the new things He is springing up in your life this year.


  1. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." ~ Matthew 6:33


With all the distractions and busyness life throws at us, this verse simplifies our priorities. Put God first in 2025—above work, worries, and wants. Even when it feels counter-intuitive, put Him first. Even when it seems like life will fall apart if you pause for one moment to be in His presence, put Him first. Even when it feels like you have to keep doing and moving in order to make things happen this year, put Him first. He is above all things, He always comes first. And His Word promises us that when we do put Him first, everything else in our lives falls into place.


  1. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." ~ Proverbs 3:5-6


Life doesn’t always make sense, and sometimes God leads us to do things that don't make sense to us in the moment, but in due time, we'll look back and see how He was working in the midst of it all. When we lean on God instead of our limited understanding, He guides us exactly where we need to go. Trust Him with your plans, your dreams, and your detours this year. Don't rely on your own wisdom, your own intellect, your own ability to figure things out; lean on God instead and He will guide your steps.




  1. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." ~ John 16:33


I'm pretty sure you know this but life is not all rainbows and butterflies all the time. Trouble will come our way, the Bible tells us so. Buuuut... here's the good news: Jesus has already overcome the world. So no matter what comes your way this year, rest in that truth.


  1. "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the Land of the Living." ~ Psalm 27:13


Sometimes, it’s hard to see the good in our circumstances. But David’s confidence in this verse reminds us to hold onto hope. Our God is good! He doesn't just sit back and watch us suffer. In fact, he grieves when we are in pain. When Jesus saw the pain that Mary and Martha were in over the death of their brother, he grieved with them. John 11:33 says that "When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled." This shows us that God is not indifferent to our pain. So when you're in pain, know that your Heavenly Father sees your pain and grieves with you. Let that truth comfort you and give you hope that God’s goodness isn’t just for eternity—it’s for the here and now, too.


  1. "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." ~ Lamentations 3:22-23


If you are feeling weighed down by the mistakes you made in 2024, this verse is for you. It is your reminder that every morning that you wake up, God's mercies are renewed for you. That means the fresh start you're looking for is tangibly accessible to you. No matter how last year went, His love and faithfulness never run out. Step into each day of 2025 with this truth in your heart.


  1. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." ~ Philippians 4:6-7


Anytime you feel anxious this year, cling onto this verse. It is the perfect reminder that no matter what the trigger is for your anxiety, you can bring it to God in prayer and allow His peace to flood your mind and your heart. I know it's not always easy, but when you give your worries to God, like His Word says, He will give you His peace. And God's peace is like none other. It’s a peace that defies logic and keeps us grounded in Him. It's the peace we all deeply long for. It's a peace that transcends all understanding.


  1. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." ~ Romans 8:28


God has called you for a purpose and on purpose. You being on this earth, right now, in this generation, is not by accident. It's on purpose. And as you figure things out, life will often feel messy or confusing. When it does, let this verse anchor you in the truth that God is always working for our good. Every setback, every detour, every side quest, He will use it all for your good. So even when you don't understand, trust that He’s weaving every situation into something beautiful for you.


I pray these verses anchor you throughout 2025 in God's truth and remind you anytime you get discouraged or weary, that your Heavenly Father is right there with you. He loves you, He is for you, and He is literally one prayer away.
