Happy New Year Love!!! 🎆
I pray your 2025 is off to an amazing start!
Before you set your resolutions and your goals for the year, I want to encourage you to take a moment to check in with God about how you're feeling about the year so far. I know we've been in 2025 for 2.5 seconds, but take the time to pause and check in with God.
Invite Him into your planning process for the year using these journaling prompts, and pay attention to the things that come up as you're journaling. What I initially thought would be my goals for the year turned out to be completely different once I gave God the space to shape them—and I’m so grateful I did.
Happy Journaling!!!
1. How are you feeling about this new year?
Are you hopeful, excited, nervous, or something in between? Write to God about it. Be honest—He already knows your heart, but there’s something so freeing about laying it all out before Him.
2. What new things has God been doing in your life?
Read Isaiah 43:19:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Take a moment to reflect—what new things has God been stirring in your heart or life? How will you trust Him with these new opportunities or challenges? Write it all down and let God guide your thoughts.
3. What are you grateful for from last year?
Sometimes, in our rush to move forward, we forget to pause and thank God for what He’s already done. Take a moment to reflect on the past year. What blessings, lessons, or answered prayers stand out to you? Write a prayer of gratitude.
4. What are your hopes and dreams for this year?
Write down the things you’re dreaming about for 2025. Then, surrender them to God. Ask Him to show you which dreams are part of His plan and to align your heart with His will.
5. What areas of your life do you need God’s guidance in?
Maybe it’s a big decision, a tough relationship, or a new season of life. Write about the areas where you need clarity, wisdom, or peace. Then, ask God to lead you step by step. (Proverbs 3:5-6 is a great verse to meditate on for this!)
6. What are you leaving behind?
Read Philippians 3:13-14:
"...forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Are there things from last year—mistakes, regrets, or fears—you need to let go of? Write them down, give them to God, and ask Him to help you move forward in freedom.
7. How can you grow closer to God this year?
Take some time to think about your relationship with God. Are there habits or rhythms you want to cultivate, like spending more time in prayer, studying the Word, or serving others? Ask Him to show you how to deepen your walk with Him this year.
8. Who can you bless this year?
God calls us to love and serve others. Who in your life could use encouragement, support, or kindness this year? Write down a few names and pray for them. Ask God to show you how you can be a light in their lives.
9. What’s one word or verse for your year?
Sometimes, God places a specific word or Bible verse on our hearts for a season. Ask Him to speak to you about this year—what’s the theme He wants you to focus on? Write it down and keep it close as a reminder throughout the year.
10. What is God teaching you right now?
Whether you’re in a season of growth, waiting, or rest, God is always at work in your life. Write about what He’s teaching you right now and how you can respond to His leading.
Planning your year with God isn’t about creating a perfect blueprint for life—it’s about inviting Him into the process and letting Him shape your steps. As you journal through these prompts,I pray that you’ll feel His presence guiding you, comforting you, and filling you with hope for the year ahead.
Happy Journaling!
